Количество звездочек на визе

Есть такой интересный вопрос: что значит количество звездочек на визе? Они ставятся под фото. У кого-то их 3 бывает, но в основном 1 или 2. У меня на обеих визах 1 (хотя первая J1, а вторая B1/B2), а мой молодой человек получил 2, хотя подавали на туристическую вместе. Что это такое? Ну не степень же надежности туриста как неэммигранта?

One of my friend mention it determines the 'hotness' status of the applicant...the more the star the higher risk of the person is.....one of my friend who has 3 star had gone thru long interview upon disembarkation at US port whilst the less star did go thru such thing.
The stars below the photo in the USA visa indicates the "RISK" status when entry the United States, which means that if you have more stars, then you will go through more security check when entering the United States.
The number of stars are determined based on several reasons like: nationality, age, status, sex, countries visited before and others but as I mentioned before, it is only an indication. A lot of two stars have entered the states without any problem especially those who were joining families, but 2 star will probably be interviwed when reaching the states in case they were alone.
Three stars means that security check will happen when arriving to the states but at the end, it depends on the immigrant officer...
